Actually a lot of cartoons have almost like two layers of humour, one for the children and one for adults. I remember watching The Simpsons as an adult and realising how many jokes that children won't understand.

LOL that entire film series was all about teasing when and how the characters would die. Enjoy and hate is accurate.
